FINDING NOAH – Beyond Myth, Science and Faith Lies Something Deeper

For over 2,000 years, man has been searching for the final resting place of Noah’s Ark. Though there have been many attempts, few have been able to fully explore the one place specifically noted in the Bible: Mount Ararat. Located in Eastern Turkey, Agri Dagh or “The Painful Mountain” is the tallest mountain in the region at nearly 17,000 Ft. and lies in the very center of a centuries old, geo-politically unstable hot spot. With constant threats of deadly rock slides, hidden crevasses, and glacial ice falls and even acts of terrorism, the Kurdish Rebel held mountain poses great risk to any explorer, let alone those performing a thorough scientific investigation. That is…until now.

Join director/producer Brent Baum and the FINDING NOAH film crew as they follow an expedition of intrepid explorers on a perilous trek up to Mt. Ararat’s desolate summit. There, using state of the art technology and real-time satellite imagery, this team of archeologists, scientists and professional mountaineers will begin a grid work of exploration unlike any before, hoping to finally resolve the age-old question: did Noah and his Ark actually exist?

Shot in never-before filmed locations and in the harshest of conditions, this unprecedented feature-length documentary shows just how far men are willing to go to discover the truth. Narrated by Academy Award (R) nominee Gary Sinise, the Award-Winning 2015 Documentary: FINDING NOAH is more than a quest for answers, it is a testament of the human spirit, where belief and the need for exploration transcend risk and limitation. These brave pioneers will have to push beyond myth, beyond science and beyond faith in order to succeed. They will experience pain, redemption and renewal on the journey that is FINDING NOAH.

KEVIN DEVRIES, Founder & President of Grace Explorations appears in FINDING NOAH as a Lead Mountaineer. Over the course of five summers (2009-2013), Kevin served as a Lead Mountaineer for ARK SEARCH, LLC, assisting a group of professional archeologists, geologists, geophysicists and engineers as they conducted 3-D Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electrical Resistivity Surveys on Mt. Ararat’s nearly 17,000 Ft. Eastern Plateau; a frozen, unforgiving, lunar-like landscape the size of several football fields famed for its mercurial temperament in the mythic pantheon of “mountain gods.” Directed by real-time satellite imagery, these sub-surface technologies penetrated Ararat’s ice cap to reveal anomalies beneath the ice of peculiar similarity to the biblical dimensions of Noah’s Ark. Upon the Eastern Plateau, modern technology and ancient lore converged on a crevassed ice field that has fractured mankind’s imagination since civilizations rebirth. Technical “witnesses” supported by anecdotal eyewitness accounts throughout the ages, led to one of the most herculean excavation attempts in the history of archeological exploration.

Scientific data, however tantalizing, must be verified by daring explorers willing to endure a gauntlet of pain and climb above the clouds where legends sleep and “Guardians of Glory” keep watch over their secrets by night and day. Surviving extreme conditions for up to two months at a time on “The Painful Mountain” enveloped in a war-torn demilitarized zone, hair-raising electrical storms, tent-shredding hurricane force winds, greedy crevasses, gaping black voids and “rock giants” hurling giant boulders at unsuspecting climbers without a single loss of life or limb, defies superlatives and bankrupts language into the lofty lineage reserved for living legends. Under significant duress, one can experience a surreal detachment to their own harrowing ordeal. In those suspended moments, characters become narrators inside their own story reciting unrehearsed lines just like Samwise Gamgee uttered to Frodo Baggins in J.R.R Tolkien’s “Lord of The Rings” mythic masterpiece: “I wonder what sort of a tale we’ve fallen into?” Now the whole world knows what sort of tale KEVIN DEVRIES fell into with the 2015 nationwide release of FINDING NOAH.

As the only expedition climber to reach the legendary “arkeological” dig site five summers in a row on Ararat’s Eastern Plateau, KEVIN DEVRIES has an unrivaled front row seat to the most recent, fascinating chapter of Ark exploration that has captured the world’s imagination for thousands of years. The Flood story and the Ark are shared in part by all the world’s major religions. It is a master archetype of literature and depth psychology and a meta-narrative of oral history that has covered the planet with nearly 500 flood legends on six continents thousands of years before the rise of global communication. It is a story that impacts us all because it is an epic exploration into the human heart that colonizes our deepest dreams to write the legend of our lives. ARK SEARCH, LLC, now rests unashamed and undaunted in the hallowed halls of exploration’s most ambitious undertakings of all time while the prize for the greatest archeological discovery of the ages remains unclaimed.

Great things are done when men and mountains meet. – William Blake

One of the most compelling documentaries I’ve ever watched, mixing an historical fact and a modern day mystery together with real life. It just may be that FINDING NOAH will help you find your faith or rediscover the One True God.

  5. Neil Kennedy, Founder, Five Star Man

Men are inherently driven for discovery. Within us is the echo of our past and the summons of our future. The exploration of FINDING NOAH speaks to the adventurous spirit within the heart of the men who climbed Ararat, not only to discover the evidence of the Biblical truth, but to draw upon the deep waters of their own purpose. I strongly endorse the movie, but more importantly encourage the adventure behind it.
