Raw, redemptive, no-frills Stories for men
PTSD
a story by john collier
Decorated Indiana State Trooper, John Collier, had finally became hero he'd always wanted his father to be.
“I did what I thought I was supposed to do to be an honorable man,” John recalls.
However, an attempt to reunite with his father would send John into a tailspin, leading to drug addiction, dismissal from the force, and a ten-year prison sentence.
Even the most honorable men aren’t strong enough to withstand the hell unleashed through unidentified trauma.
When we asked John to summarize his story in one sentence, he paused a moment to find the words and then grinned as the line came to him:
“Even when you don’t believe it, there’s always hope.”
